Faster investigations and more control over BESS data – September 2026 product updates

The focus this month

Investigating BESS performance often means connecting different pieces of information: what changed in the data, what was happening at the asset at the same time, and whether an issue requires immediate attention.

This month’s updates make that process easier. Teams can now see operational events directly alongside historical data, receive urgent alerts by phone or SMS, and choose the level of detail they need when analyzing historical data.

Connect operational events with historical data

What changed

Events can now be displayed directly on historical data graphs.

When investigating a drop, spike, or unexpected change in performance, users can see which events occurred during the same period without moving between separate views. Event markers show when an event started and make it easy to open the event directly from the graph for more context.

What this enables

Asset managers can now:

  • See operational events alongside historical measurements.

  • Quickly check which alarms occurred around a change in performance.

  • Open an event directly from the graph to investigate further.

This makes it easier to connect changes in performance with what was happening at the asset at the time, helping teams understand potential causes and investigate issues faster.

Stay informed about urgent issues when you’re away from the platform

What changed

In addition to email notifications, users can now opt in to receive SMS messages and phone calls for critical and operational errors.

Notifications can be configured for the sites and priorities relevant to each user. SMS alerts include key information about the event, while phone calls allow on-call users to acknowledge urgent alerts.

What this enables

Asset managers and operations teams can now:

  • Receive urgent alerts by SMS or phone call.

  • Choose which sites and priorities they want to be notified about.

  • Get key information about an issue directly by SMS.

  • Acknowledge urgent alerts by phone.

This makes it easier for on-call teams to respond to important site issues without relying on email or actively monitoring the platform.

Analyze historical data at the right level of detail

What changed

Users now have more control over how historical data is aggregated and displayed.

Different aggregation modes, including minimum, maximum, average, and mode, can be applied to the same measurement. Users can also choose the level of granularity they need, from raw data to daily values, and move from a broader trend to a more detailed view when investigating a specific period.

What this enables

Asset managers can now:

  • Compare different views of the same measurement.

  • Choose the level of detail that fits the analysis.

  • Move from a broader trend to more detailed data when investigating an issue.

  • Export data using the same aggregation and granularity shown on the graph.

This gives teams more flexibility when analyzing asset performance, whether they are reviewing longer-term trends or looking more closely at a specific issue.

Easier sharing and time-range selection

We’ve also made it easier to revisit and share an analysis.

When sharing a saved data selection, the link can now retain the selected time range and granularity. This means a colleague opening the link sees the same data and timeframe, making it easier to share an investigation or reporting view without having to recreate it.

Selecting time ranges is also quicker and more consistent. Common and recently used periods are easier to access, and clearer timeframe and timezone information makes it easier to confirm exactly which period you’re looking at.

Looking ahead

These updates are designed to make everyday asset management workflows simpler, from spotting and investigating an issue to sharing findings or responding when something needs attention.

By bringing operational events and historical data closer together, improving how teams are alerted to urgent issues, and giving users more flexibility when analyzing data, Cellect helps teams get to the information they need faster.

We’ll continue improving Cellect around the day-to-day workflows of BESS asset managers, helping teams investigate issues faster and operate their assets more efficiently.

Stay tuned for next month’s product updates.
